UFC Mexico City

Moreno vs. Erceg - Moreno is coming off a win over Albazzi via unanimous decision, while Erceg is entering the fight after losing two in a row to Koffi and Pantoja. I expect Moreno to get the job done in this one because Erceg's best chance to beat him is on the ground, which is rough, as I don’t think he’s as good on the ground.

Torres vs. Dober - Torres steps back into the Octagon after a loss to Bahamondes at UFC Noche, which honestly aged well. I don’t expect this fight to go the distance. Dober is a little bit chinny and always engages in firefights, so this should be a great fight leading into the main event.

Gastelum vs. Pyfer - Gastelum has had problems recently with his weigh-ins; he simply looks dead when he steps on the scale. He will be looking to make this fight as dirty as possible because if this turns into a technical battle between the two, Pyfer will more than likely put his lights out.

Rosas Jr. vs. Morales - Rosas has a goal to be the youngest UFC champion in history. At only 20 years old, he has just over two years to catch Jon Jones. I hope that his striking catches up to his grappling; when and if it does, that’s when he will be ready to contend for the belt.

Martinez vs. Oliveira - Martinez is making his first walk after earning a contract on the Contender Series. Oliveira is coming into the bout with his back against the wall, being 0-2 in the UFC and hasn’t fought since 2023. If he loses, he has likely fought his last fight in the promotion.

Rodriguez vs. Borjas - Rodriguez stole the show at the press conference of UFC Noche. The Mexican fans will give him a huge pop when he walks to the ring, and I expect him to put on an amazing performance against Borjas.

Chairez vs. Vergara - Chairez is coming off a unanimous decision loss to ranked Josh Van, while CJ is coming off two losses against ranked opponents. This is honestly a great matchup where either guy can win on the ground or in the stand-up, so as a bettor, I will stay away from this one; I will say +200 might be a little much for CJ.

Gautier vs. Medina - Gautier is a fun fighter to watch, with five finishes in his six wins. He is fighting the tough Medina, but Medina has shown that he can be beaten, as Zach Reese dominated him for 15 minutes last time out.

Costa vs. Rodriguez - CROD looks to derail another fighter's momentum, as he has done many times before. He is a great wrestler, which will come in handy against a guy who’s trying to take him to the mat. I’m interested to see how the striking goes in this fight because that will more than likely dictate the winner.

Polstri vs. Godinez - Godinez makes the walk again after losing her last two fights to ranked opponents. I find it interesting that they have her on the B side for this fight, with her being Mexican and fighting in Mexico, and she has the more recognized name. She is even the favorite in this fight, so I hope she looks at that and comes into the fight with a bit of ego.

Garcia vs. Pichel - Pichel has been a part of the organization since 2012 and is coming off back-to-back losses. He is also 42, and in this sport, nine out of ten times you end up going out on your back. I have a feeling this will be the last time we see him in the UFC.

Emmers vs. Miranda - Emmers has alternated wins and losses for about five years now, and he lost his last one, so I assume he gets this win. Hopefully, he can put a streak together.

Hubbard vs. Mederos - Austin Hubbard kicks off the card, facing a dangerous striker. He will be looking to put him on the mat and avoid dealing with Mederos's lethal striking. This is an exciting fight to get the night started.
